A.C.E. (Arch Circulation Enhancer)
The soft, ergonomically-designed cushions of the A.C.E. system reinforce the stimulation effect in
the arch of the foot by helping to increase blood circulation throughout the foot. The A.C.E. system
helps reduce fatigue in your feet when riding and walking.

ACSS™
Arch Cradle Steel Support™ is a combination of ergonomically-designed rubber walls on the upper
part of the outer sole and a steel shank by the arch. This combination helps to reduce strain on the
foot during long rides and walks.

ActivGuard
ActivGuard is a breathable lightweight fabric that improves rider comfort. The material efficiently
conducts moisture away from the body, keeping you dry and comfortable. Anti-bacterial properties
counteract any bad odour. The garment will retain its color even after multiple washes.
Dirt-resistant properties make the garment easy to care for.

Aergozone™
Boots with the Aergozone™ symbol have impact-absorbing technology in the heels and soles. This
technology consists of multi-layer EVA and gel pads which absorb the downward force and distribute
it out into the impact-absorbing components. The Aergozone™ system can reduce stress on your
feet, knees and back when walking. It is also useful for riding, as the front components help relieve
stress on the ligaments and joints in the knees, which often suffer during riding. The Aergozone™
system differs from most other impact-absorbing technologies currently on the market, as many
of these focus on the heel area only. The Aergozone™ system works on both the heel and the ball
of the foot.

A.R.C. Shape Technology
Leggings and chaps with A.R.C. Shape Technology have a special close-fitting, yet comfortable,
tailored design that fits snugly round the legs, giving a beautiful tailored look.

Comfort System™
Comfort System™ consists of a soft and flexible neoprene material that is attached round the heel
and ankle section inside our footwear. The unique composition of the neoprene material helps to
keep the foot in a stable position. Comfort System™ therefore provides perfect comfort and support
for riding or walking.

ComfoTech
ComfoTech was developed to keep you dry when out riding. This 100% polyester fabric with excellent
breathability effectively conducts moisture away from the skin to the outer layer, keeping you dry.

Coolmax®
A soft and comfortable lightweight breathable material. Keeps you dry and cool even during
strenuous activities. Moisture is transported out through special channels in the material and rapidly
evaporates, providing a comfortable cooling effect. Coolmax® garments are easy to wash, dry
quickly and do not shrink.

Down Impact
We guarantee that this garment consists of at least 70% down and 30% feathers for optimum
warmth. A high-quality four-layer structure encloses the down in two inner layers, preventing
it from seeping through the seams, and at the same time protecting it from any moisture on the
outside.

Dura-Tech Stretch
Thanks to its unique integral stretch capacity, Dura-Tech Stretch material can mould and adapt
itself to most shapes. Leggings and chaps made of Dura-Tech Stretch can cover up to three
“ordinary” leggings/chaps sizes, which is also ideal if you want to wear extra socks under leggings
in colder weather. Dura-Tech Stretch material is water-repellent, very soft and extremely flexible
and hardwearing.

FineTex®
This fabric has been treated with a high-quality breathable Finetex® coating for increased comfort.

HYDRO-Tx™
HYDRO-Tx™ membrane is a waterproof, windproof and breathable membrane. Any perspiration
is released, while water and damp are kept out. This is possible because of the difference in molecule
size between water and vapor. The Hydro-Tx membrane’s unique structure and temperature
stability make it extremely flexible and versatile in humid and cold environments, ensuring that your
feet remain dry and warm in your boots.

Impact Protection System™
Footwear labeled with IPS™ has a built-in impact-absorbing cushion of double-layered EVA
(ethylene vinyl acetate) in the heel to provide increased impact-absorption capability. The IPS™
system consists of rubber walls with springy through channels that help distribute the downward
impact force from walking, together with the impact-absorbing double-layer EVA pad. The force
from the downward impact is distributed over a larger area and is substantially reduced.

Lace Lock Function™
Footwear equipped with the Lace Lock Function™ has a “locking” system on the last lace holder
that keeps the lacing in place even if the laces come undone.

Lycra®
Lycra® is a registered trademark belonging to Invista. Lycra® contains high-grade stretch fibres,
providing fabrics with guaranteed lasting fit.

Mountain Horse® Leather Protector
Mountain Horse® leather protector is applied at the factory and provides temporary but excellent
protection against stains. It is also water-repellent. It offers breathable properties and is both
safe and gentle. For continuous, effective protection, you should apply a similar proofing agent
from time to time.

MST – Motion Stabilization Technology steel shank
The MST steel shank was developed from our original steel shank. It was specially produced with
a view to increasing stability of footwear when riding and walking. The MST steel shank also
has a unique S-shaped design. Thanks to this S-shape, the steel shank encircles the integrated
impact-absorbing system in the heel. This allows the impact-absorbing system to work to its
full capacity.

Polartec®
A very lightweight and heat-retaining breathable fleece material. Very quick-drying in order to
minimize loss of body heat. 100% polyester. Even after numerous washes, Polartec fleece will
retain its durability and insulating properties.

PORON®4000
PORON®4000 is an excellent impact-absorbing material that is often used in jogging shoes and
especially in hiking boots, where cushioning is an important function. PORON®4000 also has ventilating
and anti-bacterial properties, making it an excellent addition to your shoes or riding boots.

Primaloft®
Primaloft® is water-repellent, windproof and breathable. The fine microfibres in the lining are as
light and warm as down and keep your hands warm even if the gloves get wet.

Protech 4000 Softshell
Reliable, comfortable and versatile in varying weather conditions. These garments provide protection
by virtue of an outer jacket combined with the soft comfort of an inner fleece jacket – all in one
garment! The outer jacket keeps out the wind, repels water and keeps you warm, while allowing
moisture to evaporate so you remain dry and not too hot. Comfort without thick layers makes
Mountain Horse’s soft outer jackets perfect for active riding on cool days.

Protective Water Resistant Technology
Protective water resistant technology is a guarantee that the garment will repel water, all essential
seams are taped to keep you dry and the garment has a built-in ventilation system for increased
riding comfort.

RSQ
RSQ stands for Riding Safety Qualified. Products labeled RSQ are specially selected products in our
collection with strict requirements for safety or protection.

Scotchgard™
These garments will help you to give your best. Conducts moisture away so that you feel drier,
cooler and more comfortable. Most stains can be removed by ordinary washing. The fabric will
remain soft and retain its breathability. The colors will retain their luster.

Scotchlite™
Scotchlite™ reflective material makes you more visible in the dark. It reflects back the light source
from headlamps, etc and projects a clear and bright reflection that drivers can spot from further
away. Consequently, drivers have more time to react.

Steel shank
The primary aim of the steel shank is to stabilize the boot so it cannot bend in the middle (neither
can a foot!). With the steel shank, the boot is forced to flex in front of the ball of the foot by
the toes, which is where the foot bends naturally. The Mountain Horse® stabilizing steel shank is
tempered at 850°C, which makes it extremely strong and durable. Shoes and boots used every
day in conditions that exceed ordinary walking should have an adapted steel shank to increase
stability when walking and also when riding, as the support from a steel shank can reduce foot
strain considerably.

Stirrup Control System™
The Stirrup Control System™ helps to keep the stirrups in the correct position thanks to rubber
reinforcements on the outside of the shoe and the cross-grain pattern on the underside of the sole.
SCS+ has the same properties as SCS but it is also equipped with extra rubber studs in the crossgrain
sole pattern for improved grip.

Stirrup Control System 3
SCS3 is a unique system offering hitherto unsurpassed stability for riders and, at the same time,
preventing the boot from slipping forward in the stirrup. SCS3 is a pattern incorporated into the sole
of the boot and into the SCS3 stirrup tread. When these patterns mesh together, it increases support
and stability particularly when jumping, when the foot has a tendency to slide forwards or backwards,
or to come right out of the stirrup altogether. The rider can choose from several different
positions in the stirrup to suit their individual preference. Boots equipped with the Stirrup Control
System 3 can be used with most other stirrups and stirrup treads on the market and SCS3 stirrup
treads can be used with boots with standard soles. Please note, however, that the SCS3 system is
not fully functional in cases where soles without the SCS3 system are used.

Stretch Imitation Leather
Durable stretch imitation leather that stretches lengthways to give optimum fit and comfort for
riders. Machine washable.

Sympatex® & Jumptex™
Sympatex® is a breathable membrane that is also windproof and waterproof. It functions extremely
well in all weathers. It is very thin and keeps the water out, while millions of tiny pores release body
vapour. This is possible because of the difference in molecule size between water and vapour.
Perspiration is able to exit from the boot while water is kept out. Your feet will stay warm and dry in
these shoes.

Tactel®
Soft, lightweight and hardwearing Tactel® yarn is easy-care and versatile, living up to modern
requirements for performance.

Teflon®
Teflon keeps fabric looking new longer, as stains don’t adhere and spilled liquid collects in drops and
runs off. Tough stains can be removed by cleaning and Teflon also makes the fabric water-repellent.

Thermolite®
Thermolite® material is designed to keep feet/legs warm and comfortable without the need for a
heavy lining in the boots. Despite its light weight, Thermolite keeps you warm during all types of
activities in a cold climate. Thermolite® is a registered trademark of DuPont®

Thinsulate® insulation
The original “heating without heavy insulation” is still the warmest and thinnest insulation
material on the market. It delivers almost 1.5 times more heat than down and other insulating
materials. The material is breathable, moisture-wicking and suitable for machine washing or
dry-cleaning. Retains heat even in damp conditions.

WPS Advanced
The WPS Advanced standard is your guarantee that the fabric is waterproof and breathable as
well as having fully-taped seams that maintain a minimum level of waterproofness (ISO 811:1981)
5,000 g/m2/24 and breathability (ISO 11092) 5,000 mm. This garment can withstand prolonged
heavy rain and strong winds.

WPS All Purpose
The WPS All Purpose standard is your guarantee that the fabric is waterproof and breathable as
well as being equipped with fully-taped seams that maintain a minimum level of waterproofness
2,000 g/m2/24 (ISO 811:1981) and breathability 4,000 mm (ISO 11092). This garment can withstand
heavy rain and strong winds.

WPS Comfort
The WPS Comfort standard is your guarantee that the garment is waterproof and has fully-taped
seams to withstand heavy rain and strong winds. This garment has been designed with built-in
ventilation for increased riding comfort.

Zip-In
An ingenious zipper system that allows you to combine jackets, waistcoats and fleece linings in
numerous different ways. With Zip-In, you can adapt your own jacket to suit your requirements and
the weather. Individually or combined, the garments in the Zip-In range provide a very practical
wardrobe, suitable for all seasons.
